2024 Chef, Na'ama- Dancer Spotlight

Nutcracker is such an important part of the winter season for me. All of the weekend rehearsals pay off at the end when we get to dance on stage alongside our closest friends and make new memories year after year.

My most memorable Nutcracker experience was the first time I ever watched the Nutcracker. I had just moved to Carmel and started at The Dance Center. I wasn’t quite ready to be in the performance just yet, so I went to see the show. I spent my saved up money on a hand decorated pointe shoe inspired by Clara. Ever since that show, I’ve received one every year. Seeing the beautifully decorated tutus and pointe shoes and the pure happiness on the dancers faces, I knew I wanted to be in it for many years to come.

A piece of advice I’d give to a young dancer is to cherish your Nutcracker memories no matter what role you received. You make memories to keep for a lifetime. I’m so excited to participate in this year’s Nutcracker.
